We’re into a warm (but not too warm), natural, neutral, modern look. This video is interior home photos with the walls painted with Sherwin. I’m wondering if shiitake was the right color for the floor (doesn’t look bad, I am just sometimes not sure), what white to paint the trim, and what neutral colors would work for the kitchen against both the floor and the shiitake walls. Sherwin Williams Origami White is a popular white/greige Sherwin Williams paint color. However, it has different undertones of violet and blue, separating it from its counterpart. Aesthetic White DOES have some warmth, but it’s nicely subdued by a wink o’ gray. A lot of popular beige paint colours have a slightly golden, yellow-orange undertone to them. I’m thinking of a white for the upper cabinets and something like tri-corn black for the bottom. Sherwin-Williams has one white that is their true white-white. Perfect for freshening up walls or making a crisp contrast with more saturated colors. This will be the base that I will work off of before I go to the left of the spectrum with cool whites and to the right of the spectrum with warm whites. We painted before we laid the floor because that was suggested to us (wish we hadn’t now). A clean, delicate white with cool violet undertones.

We had a pro suggest shiitake for the walls. Sherwin Williams Origami White is a bright off-white paint color. Depending on the light it can switch from quite warm to slightly softer, cooler.

Our floors are slightly whitewashed European Oak with what some say is a slight pink or red undertone, but I also see a slight gray undertone (maybe I’m wrong), and the flooring site it says the series its from are natural taupes and tans. Hi, we just painted our entire open main floor in shiitake (both north and south light).
